As you all know Israel is one of the most popular defense weapons manufactures in the world. The Israel Defense Forces use Iron Dome system to protect their country.
Iron Dome system is an invisible mobile all-weather defense system. It is developed by Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. The main advantage of this system is capable to intercept and destroy enemy rockets that come in its radar.
Radar and Interception Range
The ground to air range of the Iron Dome system is 4 to 70 kilometer.
Design and Development
The Iron Dome system is developed by Israel to protect their country and people’s from the enemy. This system is designed by the collaboration of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems (RADS).
Testing
In July 2008 – The Tamir interceptor missile underwent first successful testing.
In July 2010 – This system successfully intercepted multiple rocket barrages mimicking.
In March 2011 – Iron Dome was declared defense operations.
Easy to move – The Iron Dome system is a mobile defense system. That can be transported with a truck to anywhere. And it is an invisible shield air defense system.
Features
-> Detection & Tracking Radar
-> Battle Management & Weapon Control (BMC)
-> Missile Firing Unit
How Iron Dome work?
It is based on battery system. And the battery is divided in three parts
->Radar
-> Control Center
-> Launcher
Radar: Whenever any rocket comes the radar will get rocket trajectory and speed.
Control Center: Radar sends information to the Control center and Control center sense the rocket address where it actually drops.
Launcher: When control center send the information to the launcher. The launcher has the interceptor’s missile. The interceptor also use its small radar that help it to destroy enemy rocket
Recently Israel use it Palestine in the confliction between Israel and Palestine near Gaza Strip. Because both sides have taken to air strikes and rocket attacks. Here’s a video of videos.
